EXISTING MARKET
STEP 1:
I think the next step is to expand
the horizon for what devices are capable, and what computer programs are
available for the glasses to connect to. It is nice and simple to just connect
with the large companies, but some houses of worship cannot afford spending
hundreds of dollars on these nice programs.
STEP 2:
My boss believes that integration with
Ableton Live will really entice the worship leaders that do not really need the
lyrics, it expands the market. Ableton Live is a computer program that plays
click and backing tracks. The glasses would be a visible metronome to keep performers
in time.
The current worship leader of my
church’s youth group said that it would be nice if the chords he was playing
could be displayed on the glasses instead of the lyrics. That is a very helpful
insight that I did not think of.
My best friend, who works in a
church, explained that I should connect it also with Planning Center Online,
which is worship service planner. Some people like MC do not care about what
lyrics are coming next. They instead care for what song comes next or far away
is the message or how much time is left in the current video playing.
STEP 3:
The first two points explained exciting
ways that will help worship leaders and other musicians to want to use the
smart glasses. It would let them not need chord charts anymore, since it will
be right in front of them whenever they need it. This will be much easier,
because whenever you look away from the chart you have to find your spot again.
Working
with Ableton will be easy because it encourages 3rd party plug ins. However,
it will be hard to sync up the chords for the song. That might be some
something that I collaborate with MultiTracks, the company that distributes
tracks to consumers. They will also help with adding the chords to the glasses.
NEW MARKET
STEP 1:
Working B2C
with Planning Center Online will take me to a new market. This was the idea
that my best friend gave me, but it actually exceeded the current market. It
would bring it to people needing to know the flow of the service. This could
include the tech team as well as the MC of the service.
STEP 2:
This can be a big help to the
light person and the sound engineer. They need to know what is coming up next
in the service, so they can act accordingly. If I can make it easier by having the
order in front of them at all times, it will reduce distractions.
STEP 3:
I spoke to the sound engineer
for my church and he was very excited to hear this. He thought that was a brilliant
idea that could help him greatly. He was not really on board with the lyric
idea before, but thinks this new market is very profitable.
Secondly, I
talked to the MC for one of the services. He is in his late 40’s, and said that
he would not like it because it likes to hold onto paper and does not trust
technology to work when there is no backup. He does think the younger generations
would like it because of how fresh of an idea that is.
STEP 4:
I believe
this is a profitable service to add to the app. It places more people in the
market and includes more people inside a church service. It is helpful for
those who need information and cannot memorize it because it can sometimes
changes. The glasses can update on the fly so that everyone can be on the same
page.
This market
does appear to be as attractive as the existing market because the benefits are
great. Also, the current market could also use this too if they don’t need
lyrics or want a combination of them both.
Grant, I think your product will do wonders in your current market, and most importantly help people experience worship in a way that they have never felt before. Not only will it be a great success in terms of profit, it will be a great success within the community. Everybody will be talking about how awesome Grant's glasses are, and you definitely deserve all the recognition you will eventually receive. However, I'm a little confused about your new market but I could be misreading. Great Work!
