2A Bug List:
1. The new MacBooks are slimmer and faster but have only one type of port on it. It makes it difficult to connect any external device to the computer. It exists because Apple thinks USB C is going to become the new norm, but until that happens, I am stuck carrying around adapters.
2. The fact that, the iPhone does not have a headphone jack bugs me beyond belief. I do not understand why it is not there anymore. Bluetooth audio is not as clean as a straight connection through an analog cable. I feel like it is a marketing ploy to make new standards. However, it is cutting into their sales. Samsung is making a lot of money, taking the shortcomings Apple has to make convenience to the consumer.
3. My calendar bugs me most of the time. I try to have great time management, but my calendar doesn’t notify me the way I want it to. When my next appointment is coming up, I want the event to stay on my lock screen on my phone. I miss events because the notifications are too far in between. I honestly might not be using my calendar properly, but I would hope that it would be more intuitive than that.
4. At my apartment, the garbage truck comes at six in the morning on Friday’s. They leave their truck running right in front of my room and grab about 20 garbage cans before moving on to the next street. It happens because it saves time rather than moving the truck every forty-five seconds, but I wish it could be quieter though.
5. Today I used the Waze app to get to a friend’s apartment. There is a feature where you can send your ETA as a text. Instead of telling him that I was 5 minutes out I just sent him the Waze notification. Of course, it did not go through, so I had to wait for him for a long time. It bugs me when technology does not work the way it should.
6. It bugs me when orders are messed up Dunkin Donuts. The employees never understand what I am trying to ask for. I have ended up only mobile ordering because my order becomes correct, but when I do not have time I wish they would understand what I am trying to say. The problem is probably the speaker system and the headsets they are using, I think it is time for them to be updated.
7. I use a digital audio workstation called Ableton Live. I use it to use tracks and a click at my church for worship services. It bugs me when there is not a shortcut for a specific I use to “collect all and save.” It does not make much time to get to the drop-down menu for it, but a keyboard shortcut would be nice. It must not be a readily used function, but I want to be able to customize shortcuts.
8. I do not like the gear shifter in my Prius. The shifter always goes back into a home position. I sometimes forget what gear I am in. This is most likely a safety feature but is still annoying when I push the gas to realize I am still in park.
9. The internet speed at my apartment is neck-breaking. My download speed is 200mbps, and upload is 350mbps. Those numbers are crazy fast. When I looked at the cabling for the rooms, there are using CAT5 cables. This was the industry standard back in 2000. Networks are much different now. They used cheaper cables for cost reduction, which suffers the speed from its full potential.
10. When I go camping, I do not like how cumbersome my tent is. The material is heavy, and the bag is big for the size of the tent it is. This tent is cheaper, so I am getting what I pay for, but they could have engineered the design to be a little more compact. They probably did this to make me buy a nicer, more expensive tent.
11. The bus system on campus is overcrowded sometimes. It would be nice if there were more buses to offset the influx of students trying to get home after class. This would work in the beginning, but then there would be too many buses on the roads and even more students taking the bus instead of other modes of transportation.
12. In my hometown, there is a traffic light that gets terribly backed up in the heart of town. During rush hour it takes almost 15 minutes to get through the light. It never seems to be green for long enough for cars to pick up any speed. They even thought about turning the intersection into a giant roundabout. I am glad it did not go through because all the semis would have to take the third exit, which is the hardest turn for the truck to make.
13. Apple Maps is incorrect when I am going to my apartment. It always tells me to take a specific road to leave the apartment. That is fine, but I cannot take a left hand turn out of my apartment. When I take a right, the reroute glitches somethings and takes me an even further way. I am living in a newer side of town, so updates apparently have not pushed yet. Apple should update more often.
14. I bought two Samsung monitors for my laptop. The cables they gave me barely work. They do not click into place, so they sometimes just fall out. This bugs me because when it unplugs every screen turns black for about 2 seconds. I bought more expensive cables, but it has not seemed to fix the problem. I understand it is most likely a cost savings issue.
15. I do not like shopping at Walmart because the lines and walkways are overcrowded. They are trying to fix it because you can do online shopping and pick up in store. I have not used this feature, but I assume it will be glitchy. I do not think you can fix smelly people
16. It bugs me setting up printers on a PC. The drivers are usually not installed already, and you have to spend a lot of time for setup. I did this for a friend, and it took, way too long and it ended up not working. Setup has to be easier.
17. When I was a kid, I got an ironman lego toy. My mom spent fifteen dollars on it, and I could not wait to get home. When I built it, I came to realize it did not come with the helmet. I became despondent. Walmart did not let me return it because they thought I lost the piece. Lego’s should have better-checking systems to have prevented this problem.
18. I use a cloud-based server called ShareFile for my work. I send files from my computer here in Gainesville to my hometown. They are supposed to be automatically downloaded, but the laptop had to be plugged in and turned on. It would be much more time efficient if it worked when the laptop is connected to the internet but closed. This is probably happening because the computer must fall asleep.
19. My apartment has a key code to get into the front and back door. Management gave me the code to the front door, but it is incorrect with the backdoor. I talked to the front office, but they said I was typing the code in the wrong. They do not seem to be helping me with it. Their customer service needs to be better.
20. The apartment place changed my room about four times before I actually moved in. This did not affect me until I a paid for my rent. The lease is stating that I am paying rent for my roommate’s room. This is a huge error that should be an easy fix. I just feel that it takes a long time to get the help I need. There file keeping office should be more careful of the changes that are happening with tenants, especially if they are the ones changing it.
It was challenging to come up with twenty different things that bug me, I have just accepted the fact that products are not as useful or services are not as fast and reliable as I think they should be. I feel like a negative picky person now. It, however, is making me think how to put systems in place to make the processes better.

Hi Grant! I think you did an awesome job creating your bug list. It also totally bugs me when they mess up my iced coffee order at Dunkin Donuts. It is such a pain when that happens. IT also really bugs me when technology does not work as it is suppose to. I really understand your feelings towards Google Maps and Waze, when they do not work perfectly. I think you really covered a great array of bugs that bother you.
